The United States of America has provided the sole reason for Israel’s incursion into Lebanese territories.
During a press conference on Wednesday, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio addressed journalists, stating that Israel does not assert any claims over Lebanese territory despite its ongoing occupation.
When questioned about whether the United States would endorse Israel’s withdrawal from southern Lebanon, Rubio responded, “The only reason Israel is in Lebanon is because Hezbollah launches rockets and drones from there. They’ve made that clear.”
He emphasized that the United States desires a stronger presence of Lebanon’s military and government in managing Lebanese territory, asserting that Israel does not possess any claims to Lebanon’s land.
Rubio added, “The more of that area the Lebanese armed forces can secure, the less it remains under Hezbollah’s control, and consequently, the less Israel will be present in Lebanon.”
Reports indicate that Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Netanyahu, have publicly stated that the nation has no intention of withdrawing from southern Lebanon, where it continues to conduct operations despite the US-Iran agreement that calls for an end to hostilities on all fronts.
Additionally, Israel’s defense minister previously remarked that Washington has not requested Israel to pull back its forces.
